2015 KBF Open Update Day Friday AM

Thursday’s Big Bass Day One is wrapped up, Cody Black has already pocketed a $500 gift card and first cast is under way. The fish are feeling frisky and it will take more than a 20 inch fish to even sniff the Top 5 for Big Bass and with two and a half days of fishing remaining that number could increase another inch or two.

The weather has been cooperative thus far and temperatures are looking like they’ll stay in the mid 60s through the rest of the weekend. The rain jackets are out for this morning and will likely be on most of the day.

The new Tourney X system is operating smoothly and fish are being judged in real time which speeds up the check in process. Today anglers will turn in their two best fish. Tomorrow it will be their best three. Without the possibility of culling from Day One to Day Two, Friday’s two fish won’t win you the tournament but they can sure lose it for you.

Payouts look great. With 157 anglers fishing, First Place will be at least $7,000 and money will be paid to the top 15 finishers with 15th place taking home $400, more than double the entry fee.

Manufacturers’ money is available for additional payouts as well which could land an angler an additional $14,000.

Stay tuned here for additional updates this afternoon and all day tomorrow. If you’d like to follow the leader board go to tourneyx.com.
