Thanks for the posting Chris. I own a Perception Pescador 12, and the advantage of this new kayak maybe in the sides rails, and the extra 3" width. Would like to see how it handles though.

  2. Chris Payne says:

I think the width, side rails and seat are the most important improvements. Definitely agree. I am hoping to paddle one soon!

It'll be interesting to see how it handles offshore. The FS128T unfortunately has a pretty dismal record for handling open / rough water. I'll still take the Pescador (and the old model Tarpon it was based on) over any of these Ascend models for big water.

By the way, are there any lawn type chairs available in the market for SOT Kayaks?

  5. Chris Payne says:

Sure are Sam. Look at Jackson, Native, Hobie Pro Angler, Diablo Paddle Sports, and many more.

  6. Can you tell me if the weight of the fs12t is an issue for one person?

  7. Chris Payne says:

Tony, It will be fine at 190.

  8. Can you tell me if the weight is an issue for one person, i,m 5' 10" and 190.
