REVIEW: Mustang Survival Bluewater Dry Bags

Being able to keep gear dry is inherent with being a kayak angler.  Kayakers know better than anyone that things getting wet kust comes with the territory. The Mustang Survival Roll Top dry bags are a solution to that. In the age of GoPro there is still a want to have a DSLR on the boat to grab the perfect photo.  You don’t however, want risk of water damage. Time to put it to the test.

Though many dry bags are similar, the Mustang Survival bags have a couple stand out benefits.  The first is the unique cube design that keeps the contents packed together, but also prevents the bag from rolling around on the deck of your kayak.  My old round bottom dry bags would sometimes slide or tip.

Secondly, these bags offer a waterproof label window, much like a luggage tag window on a suitcase.  The window allows you to label the bags in a non-permanent manner from trip to trip.  I found the labeling option a great way to identify what was in the bag without having to open the bag.  It turned out to be a great feature in a recent in rainstorm.

If you were like me, and assumed a bag is a bag, check the little things.  The small details make this bag a user friendly stand out.

The 5L bag is $25, the 10L is $30. Find these and more sizes here.
