2019 11th Annual YakAttack Benefit Tournament

11th Annual YakAttack Tourney

Burkeville, Virginia – The 2019 11th Annual YakAttack Benefit Tournament will take place May
17-18 and will be headquartered at the Cedar Crest Conference Center at Twin Lakes State Park
in Green Bay, Virginia; the same location as previous years.

Registration for the tournament will open on January 13th, 2019 at 7:00 pm EST and will be capped at 200 entries. For anglers who have participated in the event for five or more times or those who won a division at the 2018 event, those individuals will receive 24-hour early access to registration. Last year, the event sold out within three hours after general registration opened.

11th Annual YakAttack Tourney177 anglers participated in the 2018 event and over $22,000 was raised for Heroes on the Water and Project Healing Waters. For YakAttack, the main focus of the event is raising funds for the benefiting organizations. While there are no prizes to be won aside from bragging rights and a trophy, there is a benefit raffle. 11th Annual YakAttack TourneyHere is a brief description of the benefiting organizations:

Heroes on the Water – Founded in 2007, Heroes on The Water has remained committed to helping our nation’s veterans from all branches of the United States military with their unique kayak fishing program. The program aims to de-stress and allow veterans to unwind using the therapeutic properties of kayak fishing. Heroes on the Water provides basic kayak fishing and paddling instruction, angling clinics, and paddling classes for participants of all skill sets.

Project Healing Waters – Since its conception in 2005, Project Healing Waters has grown into a nationwide program with local chapters located across the country. Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities includingeducation and outings.
