7th Annual Tidewater Kayak Anglers Association Charity Tournament

The 7th Annual Tidewater Kayak Anglers Association Charity Tournament took place on September 24th, 2011 and had a record turnout. A field of 240 anglers competed for over $40,000 in prizes and a year’s worth of braggin’ rights. The weather threatened to ruin the weekend but held off and allowed competitors to get out and attempt to negotiate a bite in the damp conditions.

The parking lot was full of vehicles bearing a variety of kayaks and rigging options.

Volunteers worked hard getting last minute registrations done, waivers signed and handing out Captain’s bags.

Master of Ceremonies and Tournament Director Wayne Bradby kicked things off with an explanation of the rules. A few prizes were raffled off the first night and folks were sent on their way to finish up final gear preparation and get a good night’s sleep.

Anglers lined up to enter their bounty hoping to take part of the loot.
