  1. Clean the area on the top and sides of the fish finder and also the edge of the plastic that will make contact with the fish finder. Then, apply the adhesion promoter to the areas where the 3M Molding tape will go.

  1. Apply the 3M tape to the top and sides of your fish finder. Then, begin to remove the protective film from the surface that will make contact with the plastic hood material, but do not remove it completely. Leave a “tail” that you can grasp later.

  1. HINT: It is a good idea to make the bends in your plastic where it will go down the sides of the fish finder prior to adhearing.

The final step is to place the plastic hood material on the fish finder, lining up the edge of the plastic with the back sides and edges of the fish finder. Press firmly into place. In this photo, I am using rubber bands to hold everything in place until the adhesive has a chance to set up. In this case, I let it sit for a day or so, and then trimmed the hood to its final shape.
