At 6 AM this morning the KBF OPEN on Toledo Bend kicked off. The two day event has competitors from 16 different states competing for Angler of the Year points through Kayak Bass Fishing as well as cash and prizes. Additional KBF Members and Bonus Bucks members can cash in on additional incentives.
Day 1 saw Jason Broach of Florida jumping out to the lead with a three fish limit of 54.75 inches. Matthew Scotch and Justin Rushing, both of Texas, rounded out the Top Three respectively.
The rest of the Top 10 after Day 1 were:
4. Tammi Collins
5. Justin Tadlock
6. Adam Tackett
7. Josh Duffel
8. Jonathan Boles
9. Cody Milton
10. Ricky Smith
Anglers will fish tomorrow for three more fish and the cumulative best six fish will win first place.
David Kittrell is still leading the HOW Big Bass Brawl which will award a $2400 kayak to the biggest bass caught from Wednesday to Saturday. His 24.5 inch fish may hold but with Toledo Bend being America’s Best Bass Lake as rated by Bassmaster Magazine two years in a row, anything is possible.
