Crystal Lake, Ill. – June 15, 2017 – The Travel 1003 C is a new, longer-running model of Torqeedo’s best-selling electric outboard with integrated lithium battery. The Travel 1003 C boasts a 915 Wh battery – 73 percent more battery capacity compared to the standard Travel 1003 at an almost-identical weight.
Both Travel 1003 models offer the same performance as a 3 HP gasoline outboard engine, with thrust equivalent to 4 HP. The Travel is designed for small boats, dinghies and daysailers up to 1.5 tons and is proven successful in the field, with tens of thousands of motors in use around the globe. With a total weight of just 33 lbs., including the integrated lithium battery, the Travel 1003 C is the lightest and most efficient electric outboard in its class on the market – with a range of 18 nautical miles at a speed of 3 knots.
Like the entire Travel family, the Travel 1003 C comes standard with GPS and a digital readout that displays power consumption, battery status and remaining range (time or distance). A convenient USB socket charges a phone or powers a light. The TorqTrac app displays all motor information on a smartphone or similar device, and allows you to plan your trip in advance and share your position on a map with estimated time of arrival (ETA). Handy travel bags for the engine, battery and the foldable solar panel make the Travel outboard easy to carry and charge, even while underway.
The new Travel 1003 C is available for the 2017 watersports season with a short and long shaft version, and is priced at $2,399 USD.
