The Backwater Assault Hand Paddle, available for $29.95 through yakgear.com and local YakGear dealers, is ideal for quick adjustments on the water. Its teeth allow users to push off the shore or rocks, while the hooked end makes it possible to grab limbs to pull through tight spots. The Assault is made of strong, fade-resistant plastic, and is available in Olive Green or High-Viz Orange. At less than 23 inches long, and weighing less than one pound, the Assault makes storage simple.
